Learn how SIPPS and Collaborative Classroom’s professional learning support the following Leading and Learning (L&L) Innovations goals, as outlined in the grant application.
| L&L Innovation 1: Supporting New Teachers | SIPPS includes in-program features that help new teachers build content knowledge and pedagogy as they teach, equipping them with essential skills that will serve as a foundation throughout their careers. Support includes clearly articulated instructional routines, access to recordings, resources for multilingual learners, and differentiation recommendations based on progress monitoring data. Real-time support is also available through chat agents in the Support Center. For schools seeking additional implementation support for new teachers, Collaborative Classroom offers a variety of in-person and virtual learning pathways including year-long or summer-specific learning plans that can be tailored as needed, and one-on-one virtual coaching with Collaborative Coach. |
| L&L Innovation 2: Increase Instructional Supports for English Learners | SIPPS organizes the complex English vowel system to demonstrate its logic and power; the program also teaches phonics and spelling strategies together so they are mutually reinforcing. This is particularly helpful to multilingual learners who have transferred some first-language skills to English reading but need more confidence as writers due to limited mastery of English spelling. |
| L&L Innovation 3: Significantly Accelerate Literacy Learning Outcomes through Evidence -Based Intervention Practices and Project-Based Learning | SIPPS aligns with the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) recommendations for foundational skills instruction (2019) and meets Evidence for ESSA Level 2 requirements.
