At the Center for the Collaborative Classroom we believe that professional learning is essential to the success of teachers, schools, and students—it is at the core of all our work. Through continuous professional development, teachers are able to transform their classrooms and create the conditions for authentic, student-centered learning. We see schools and districts as partners, so we craft distinctive professional learning plans to make sure the work we facilitate meets the specific needs of schools and teachers.
How we approach professional learning:
- We support districts by using programs that deepen teacher practice around teaching reading and writing
- We also offer support for teachers to implement best practices in reading, writing, meeting state standards, and building community
We envision a day when every school and every classroom provides a safe, supportive environment in which all children can take the necessary risks to develop socially and academically, ultimately growing into principled, critical thinkers who learn from, care for, and respect one another.
