Dr. Jill Caton Johnson is a Professor of Education in the School of Education at Drake University, where she is the Director of Graduate Programs in the Teaching and Learning Department. She directs Drake University’s off-campus MSE cohort program BLUE (Building Leaders in Urban Education) and works with Iowa school districts to improve core literacy instruction. She is highly involved in the community, serving on the West Des Moines Community School District Board of Directors for nine years. Johnson also taught in public schools, both urban and rural, in Minnesota and Iowa. She holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy Education from the University of Minnesota, and both M.A. and B.A. degrees in education from the University of Iowa.
