SEEDS Certification Courses

Scale Your Impact with SEEDS of Learning Certification Courses

For Educators Supporting 3- to 5- Year-Olds

Whether you are a SEEDS educator aiming to advance your career by implementing the SEEDS framework, or you are a school leader looking to empower your educators to implement and sustain SEEDS organization-wide, we have an educational pathway for you.

Educator Certification Course (September 2025)

This asynchronous, self-paced course is designed to prepare educators to help children develop the oral language, emergent literacy, social skills, and self regulation skills they will need for kindergarten success and beyond.

Upon completion of this course, educators will be awarded a course badge and certified as a SEEDS of Learning™ for 3- to 5-Year-Olds Educator.

Course Outline (Approximately 18–22 hours)

  • Module 0: Welcome and Overview of the Certification Pathway
  • Module 1: Foundations of SEEDS
  • Module 2: Language Comprehension: Oral Language and Vocabulary
  • Module 3: Language Comprehension: Book and Print Awareness
  • Module 4: Word Recognition: Alphabet Knowledge
  • Module 5: Word Recognition: Phonological and Phonemic Awareness
  • Module 6: Putting It Altogether
  • Module 7:  Obtaining Your Certification

The cost of this course is $400 per educator.

Educators will need access to the SEEDS of Learning 3- to 5-Year-Olds framework materials and the Learning Portal to engage in the course activities. One SEEDS of Learning for 3- to 5- Year-Olds Educator Kit ($750) is needed per classroom. Each additional educator per classroom will need the SEEDS of Learning for 3- to 5-Year-Olds Educator’s Guide ($200).

Trainer Certification Course (January 2026)

The SEEDS of Learning for 3- to 5-Year-Olds Trainer Certification Course prepares instructional leaders to facilitate professional learning that supports sustained, organization-wide SEEDS implementation. This intensive one-week course combines five live sessions with self-guided coursework. Certified Trainers will receive a course badge, membership in an online trainer community and gain access to a curated set of facilitation resources including:

  • Foundations of SEEDS of Learning for 3–5 Year Olds 
  • Language Comprehension: Oral Language and Vocabulary
  • Language Comprehension: Book and Print Awareness
  • Word Recognition: Alphabet Knowledge
  • Word Recognition: Phonological and Phonemic Awareness

The SEEDS of Learning for 3- to 5-Year-Olds Trainer Certification is valid for two years, with a renewal course required to maintain certification.

Course prerequisite: SEEDS of Learning for 3- to 5-Year-Olds Certified Educator badge and signed certification agreement. 

Course Outline (Approximately 35–40 hours)

  • Day 1: Orientation + Foundations of SEEDS of Learning for 3–5 Year Olds 
    • AM: Live Session
    • PM: Self-Guided Course Work 
  • Day 2: Facilitation Simulation + Language Comprehension: Oral Language and Vocabulary
    • AM: Live Session
    • PM: Self-Guided Course Work 
  • Day 3: Facilitation Simulation + Language Comprehension: Book and Print Awareness
    • AM: Live Session
    • PM: Self-Guided Course Work 
  • Day 4:  Facilitation Simulation + Word Recognition: Alphabet Knowledge
    • AM: Live Session
    • PM: Self-Guided Course Work 
  • Day 5: Culminating Assessment + Word Recognition: Phonological and Phonemic Awareness
    • AM: Live Session
    • PM: Self-Guided Course Work 

The cost of this course is $2,500 per educator. 
The renewal course cost is $200 per educator every 2 years.
