Their investment has also included science of reading professional learning experiences that have helped to develop stronger teachers of reading across the Commonwealth.

Number of SIPPS Implementations Since 2010.

SIPPS, Fifth Edition

Being a Reader Small-Group Reading Sets

Supplemental Instruction for Grades K–2

Each student brings a unique set of skills, knowledge, and experiences to the classroom. Not all core reading programs come with the essential, targeted small-group instruction that ensures all students are being met at their point of need. To address this, Being a Reader Small-Group Reading Sets for grades K–2 provides an easy-to-use supplement to any whole-class reading program.

The program provides targeted, differentiated reading instruction for building and practicing phonics and foundational skills, improving language comprehension, and developing independent thinking. The small-group design enables teachers to observe and monitor student progress and make informed instructional decisions.

Being a Writer is the only research-based K–5 program that integrates essential components of comprehensive writing instruction and explicit social skills development. The program:

  • creates a community of writers
